Second Hooghly bridge will be closed to vehicles tomorrow 6pm till Monday 6am

Vidyasagar Setu (Second Hooghly Bridge) will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 6 PM on Sunday, December 1, to 6 AM on Monday, December 2. This closure affects both directions and is expected to cause disruptions across several connected routes. Westbound vehicles on Kidderpore Road will not be allowed to proceed towards Hastings Crossing. Eastbound vehicles on CGR Road will be diverted from Satya Doctor Road Crossing.

St. George’s Gate Road, heading southwards, will be fully closed to traffic. The road connecting Kidderpore to Hastings Crossing will also remain inaccessible. Pedestrian access will be allowed for individuals attending the Urs festival. The restrictions apply only to vehicles, with no impact on pedestrian movement in these areas.

Traffic police will implement diversions and set up barricades at key points. Adequate personnel will be stationed to direct vehicles and manage congestion. Commuters are urged to use alternative routes, including Howrah Bridge, to bypass the affected areas. Real-time updates on road conditions and diversions will be provided, with additional signage placed to assist drivers.
